The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and starting with the first one.
Mark Twain
If you are starting to raise sheep for the first time, adding sheep to your existing operations, or wanting to make changes in the way you raise sheep, all begin with “the first one”. We all want to get ahead, but sometimes we become overwhelmed with the whole operation before us.
Looking at the whole picture can be very overwhelming. Remember, before you could run, you had to learn to walk. Before you walked, you had to learn to stand. The same goes for starting something new.
Look at what needs to be done first. Write the small steps down as a plan. Then begin by standing, followed by walking one step at a time until you are running.
We can only live today, one day at a time. We have to put one foot in front of the other to form a step, and then we can walk. Try to stay focused on one step at a time, until the project is completed.
If you fall down, brush the dirt off, and begin again. We learn from our mistakes and falling down. We will be stronger and wise as we take the next step forward.

One foot in front of the other…
Great advice!
