As a sheep farmer I see the “Circle of Life” regularly with the birth of lambs and sometimes death. The past two weeks as a family we have been experiencing the “Circle of Life” and all the emotions that come with it.
My husband’s sister was diagnosed with cancer a few months back. My husband made a trip to visit with her. This week he had to make another trip, as she is living her last days. They visit, she knows he loves her, he knows she loves him. She is ready to go to the place of peace and be with her mother in heaven. In a month there will be a celebration of her life to share with family and friends.
This past week we also learned my daughter is pregnant. My family loves babies and are always excited a new person is joining our family. My daughter is carrying triplets, yes three babies are going to join our family at once.
When telling someone your daughter or sister is having triplets, their first words are “WOW” or “OH MY GOSH”. Then comes the question, “Is she on fertility drugs?” Answer is no, we are simply being blessed with triplets.
My daughter and her husband have one child already, now their family will be double. Triplets mean three bassinets/cribs, three high chairs, three times the diapers, wipes and formula. There is planning to be done before they arrive.
I watched a movie, “Broken Trail” with Robert Duval. There is a line in the movie spoken by Robert Duval, “from birth to death, we travel between the eternities.” Our lives are short when compared to the time before our birth and the time after our death.
After watching the movie, those words stayed with me. I made a choice to celebrate life while living. A choice to celebrate each joyful, or sad, or in between moments as I travel this journey.
As we are saying good bye to one family member, we are preparing to welcome three more family members into our lives.

We take a deep breath- take our place in the circle and maximize the moments! I pray that your family will continue to held together by strong cords of love.
